Must:
We are seeking candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years of experience with a solid understanding of software design and implementation for sensor, electromechanical, or robotic systems. Additionally, candidates should possess at least 4 years of experience in engineering within industries such as aerospace/defense, automotive, or medical devices, as well as 2 years of applicable experience in developing user interfaces and secure cloud resources. Familiarity with product development methodologies, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk Management, Change Management, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is necessary. Ideal candidates will also have exposure to ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems, experience with high mix low volume manufacturing and suppliers, familiarity with electromechanical hardware, and knowledge of Python, Matlab, and experimental data collection.
Responsibilities
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, I will expect you to lead technical projects that involve developing new products and maintaining existing production contracts. Your role will encompass providing guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers, setting technical objectives, milestones, and project timelines, while managing budgets effectively. You will also be involved in building and sustaining a CMMI® capability level 3 (or equivalent) software development organization. Your responsibilities will include developing embedded software for sensor processing and robotic navigation, working with programming languages such as C++, Rust, or C, and managing LINUX OS development. You will oversee the implementation of software for RTOS, guide the team in utilizing version control tools like Github and JIRA, and ensure system security and threat modeling. Additionally, you will collaborate with contract manufacturers on product development, oversee cross-functional engineering efforts, and work closely with the quality team to ensure top-notch product quality control.
