Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
- Over 5 years of experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) using infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Masters degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Python or Java developer (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of build and continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Artifactory)
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Solid foundation in algorithms, design patterns, and writing efficient code
- Familiarity with orchestration and scheduling tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) is a plus
- Understanding of data processing technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Kafka
- Ability to work autonomously and lead small teams of developers
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine build and deployment standards and processes (e.g., CI/CD, orchestration, scheduling) to enhance delivery and ensure the reliability of data pipelines
- Establish and maintain core infrastructure to provide scalable, robust, and highly available systems, directly supporting over 12 data engineering teams
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies, tools, processes, and reference architectures, driving innovation and continuous enhancement
- Contribute to the design and development of new software components to improve platform capabilities
- Define best practices for version control and automate enforcement as needed
- Enhance monitoring and logging using tools such as OpenTelemetry and New Relic to improve system observability and minimize downtime
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase efficiency and lessen manual efforts
- Collaborate closely with Enterprise Infrastructure, Architecture, and Governance teams while mentoring developers as appropriate
- Participate in an Agile development environment, attending daily stand-up meetings and delivering incremental improvements
