Family and Shelter Advocate - Weekend Shift

- Prior experience as a Shelter Advocate is highly desirable - Two or more years of experience in a social services environment, OR a combination of one year in social services and one year in customer service - Preference for experience in a shelter setting or with individuals facing homelessness or housing insecurity - Strong passion and experience working with children and families is advantageous - Proven skills in creative problem solving, conflict resolution, and crisis management - Understanding of trauma-informed care principles - Capability to establish proper boundaries and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations - Self-motivated and adaptable with a positive attitude - Compassionate and empathetic toward individuals from diverse backgrounds - Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Suite, and timely documentation in a database - Excellent communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening - Strong organizational and time management abilities - Sensitivity to clients facing homelessness, low-income challenges, or other barriers - Proficient in English, with additional languages preferred (e.g., Portuguese, Amharic, Spanish, etc.) - Willingness to take a TB test within 30 days of hire
