Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related four-year discipline is essential
- A minimum of four years of experience or training in a relevant field is required
- Proficient in using electrical testing tools and hand instruments
- Skilled in engineering and designing technical drawings and schematics
- Experienced with AutoCAD Electrical and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Expert understanding of PLC and Operator Interface programming languages is mandatory
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the controls team on projects of varying sizes and scopes, guiding them through the stages of the controls engineering process
- Conduct tests and evaluations of systems to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards
- Empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities
- Continuously seek ways to enhance machine efficiency by identifying and applying improvements to control systems
- Ensure control systems are scalable and flexible for future requirements
- Utilize effective communication, problem-solving skills, and industry best practices to support the systems team
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff and operators, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to effectively manage control systems, including conducting training when needed
- Ensure adherence to organizational electrical standards and safety regulations for all control systems
- Regularly review and update control systems to maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Keep accurate and comprehensive documentation of control systems, processes, and standards, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible to the relevant personnel
