Requirements

Must:
- Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science field, or equivalent experience/certification - 7+ years in information technology, with at least 5+ years focused on Cloud technologies including IaaS/PaaS/SaaS deployments on Public Cloud (AWS, AliCloud, Azure) - 3+ years developing and implementing FinOps/Cloud Cost Optimization strategies for AWS services - 3+ years in OS scripting and automation (e.g. Python, Bash) - Experience with FinOps/Cloud Cost Management tools, along with comfort in data analysis and reporting - Proven analytical capabilities with experience in cost optimization - Background in managing multi-million-dollar accounts - In-depth understanding of cloud costs and alternatives - Demonstrated ability to enhance efficiencies and cost savings with a focus on optimization - 2+ years in administering and implementing automation in public Cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible, adhering to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts (preferred) - 2+ years in container operations (Docker, OpenShift Enterprise, GKE, ECS) and orchestration (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes) (preferred) - Experience designing, analyzing, and engineering large-scale distributed systems (preferred) - Proven record of delivering technology solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (preferred) - Excellent problem-solving abilities, both independently and through leading cross-functional teams towards outcomes (preferred) - Proficient across various platforms, including operating systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows), storage solutions, security compliance practices, and databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) (preferred) - Strong understanding of emerging IT tools, software, applications, and systems for optimal enterprise operations (preferred) - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences, including executives and IT teams (preferred) - Knowledge of automated ITCM/ITRM best practices (preferred)

Responsibilities

- Analyze cloud usage to monitor resource utilization and spending trends for improvement opportunities - Optimize costs by assessing, refining, and implementing cost-saving measures across cloud services - Implement and manage automated tools to detect cost trends and anomalies - Develop financial and usage dashboards for better visibility - Collaborate with finance and business teams to ensure alignment of cloud expenses with budget constraints - Provide technical leadership and governance on services related to Marriotts solution delivery - Offer technical expertise to project teams for successful implementation of changes - Gather customer requirements and work with resources to create effective solutions - Assess the current environment for deficiencies and suggest improvements - Contribute to lifecycle, improvement, and standardization strategies - Generate periodic utilization reports to showcase performance and availability management - Utilize capacity data for future planning aligned with overall strategies - Present status reports, analyses, and findings to internal stakeholders, Executive Management, and Senior Leadership - Mentor and guide fellow team members and peers as needed - Develop implementation and testing plans, along with project timelines - Oversee project inception, assessing requirements, architecting solutions, and modeling costs - Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to provide governance for technology steering committees regarding cost and support directives - Establish standards for monitoring and alerting across all production environments - Deliver internal processes and training to equip team members with essential skills for supporting production operations - Conduct complex analyses to ensure operational availability and promote a defect-free environment - Facilitate the achievement of deliverables by Services Providers - Assist operational teams in system upgrades and updates - Consult on both routine and complex systems development - Provide early warnings to business stakeholders regarding any service level issues - Coordinate with Plan and Build teams for deployment and support activities
