Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in developing large-scale data ETL pipelines and applications at an enterprise level
- Over 4 years of experience in technical delivery ownership for extensive data pipelines and applications on AWS and Snowflake
- At least 4 years of experience in creating data applications on AWS
- More than 4 years of practical experience with Snowflake technologies
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS S3, Lambda, and EKS
- Proven technical leader with a track record of guiding Service Provider technical teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field
- Preferred: Graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Preferred: Certifications in Spark and Snowflake
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification
- Preferred: Experience with Airflow, Python, and API calls
- Preferred: Familiarity with Data Governance Tools like Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog
- Preferred: Knowledge of Hashicorp Tokenization Products
- Preferred: Experience with Agile software methodologies
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to foresee future opportunities in data platforms
- Preferred: Experience in technology leadership in a sourced environment
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical expert and lead engineer for the Data Platform team
- Conduct research, analysis, design, and development for a range of next-generation data capabilities
- Establish technical standards and create reusable frameworks for consistent product development
- Oversee the technical aspects of Service Provider deliverables, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices
- Investigate emerging AI technologies to facilitate future capabilities
- Solve complex technical issues to support analytics-driven decision-making for Marriotts business teams
- Mentor and train team members as necessary
- Collaborate with various teams to successfully guide projects from development to delivery
- Provide financial insights for department or project budgets as needed
- Enhance service delivery processes where opportunities arise
- Ensure that projects comply with established protocols and business case procedures
- Coordinate with IT and vendor teams for project implementation and support
- Identify and escalate risks appropriately within the organization
- Review Service Providers work estimates for accuracy and manage outcomes
