Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with a vocational or technical background
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- 2+ years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
- Strong knowledge of maintenance skills including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Valid Drivers License
- Familiarity with engineering computer programs related to maintenance and energy management
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests
- Communicate effectively with guests to address their maintenance concerns
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including necessary cleaning and lubrication
- Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for various systems
- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and request parts as needed
- Keep detailed records of daily activities and any issues for shift communication
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one technical area and reasonable skill in others
- Troubleshoot and repair various equipment and plumbing issues
- Assist with light repair work such as drywall patching and surface painting
- Replace light bulbs and A/C filters
- Complete necessary cleanup after maintenance tasks
- Employ the Lockout/Tagout system when conducting maintenance work
- Mentor and train junior engineers
- Conduct engineer on duty responsibilities, including readings and inspections
- Adhere to all company safety and security protocols
- Foster a professional and positive relationship with team members and guests
- Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier tasks
- Perform various administrative tasks using a computer as needed
- Complete any other reasonable duties as requested
