Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a vocational or technical background
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repair tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong communication skills to interact with guests and team members
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
- Adherence to safety and security policies and protocols
Responsibilities
- Respond to and address guest repair requests promptly
- Communicate maintenance issues effectively with guests with minimal supervision
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools, including routine cleaning and lubrication
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
- Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Share daily activities and issues with other shifts using approved communication methods
- Exhibit proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
- Carry out troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment and plumbing
- Assist with surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures during maintenance work
- Utilize engineering computer programs for maintenance and energy management
- Train and mentor junior engineers as needed
- Fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including conducting readings and rounds
- Ensure compliance with safety policies while maintaining a professional appearance
- Cultivate positive relationships with team members and respond to their concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and complete other tasks as assigned
