Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, with a vocational or technical background.
- Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration work, and parts inventory management.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification is required.
- Valid Driverโs License.
- Must comply with applicable state and federal license and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate effectively to resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and lubrication.
- Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines; identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
- Manage maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as necessary, and ensure proper communication of daily activities and issues to other shifts.
- Read and interpret standard blueprints and electrical schematics regarding plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Demonstrate above-average engineering operations skills and a strong general mechanical aptitude.
- Exhibit proficiency in at least three technical categories such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Safely conduct complex repairs ensuring compliance with safety standards and local/national codes.
- Troubleshoot various equipment issues and perform necessary repairs, using the Lockout/Tagout system during maintenance.
- Utilize engineering computer software related to preventive maintenance and energy management.
- Train and mentor other engineers as needed and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
