Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; vocational or technical background preferred.
- Experience in general maintenance and exterior and interior surface preparation, including painting.
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and attend to guest repair requests and maintenance issues independently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper lubrication.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines, while carrying necessary tools (e.g., radio, hand tools).
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate daily activities and challenges to other shifts using approved methods.
- Possess proficiency in key areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building management.
- Use hand and power tools safely; troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on various items.
- Handle tasks like surface preparation, painting, minor repairs, and the thorough clean-up of work areas.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Display knowledge of engineering computer programs relevant to preventative maintenance and energy management.
- Mentor junior engineers and carry out Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including rounds and readings.
- Follow all company safety and security protocols, report hazards, and ensure a professional appearance.
- Welcome guests and assist with their service needs, maintaining confidentiality and protecting company assets.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage in physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds as required.
