Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent along with a vocational or technical background.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification required.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Familiarity with general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting is preferred.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on various equipment and systems such as plumbing and electrical.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Attend to and resolve guest repair requests and maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Manage maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as necessary.
- Facilitate communication across shifts regarding daily activities and any arising issues.
- Demonstrate expertise in at least one engineering skill area, with above-average skills in two more.
- Safely use hand and power tools to perform repair actions.
- Troubleshoot and address plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues as needed.
- Program TVs and conduct general housekeeping and engineering duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols, reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Build positive relationships with team members and communicate effectively with all associates and guests.
- Perform physical tasks which may include lifting objects and navigating stairs or ladders as needed.
- Complete other relevant job duties as assigned.
