Requirements

Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. - Certification in a two-year technical diploma program for HVAC/refrigeration. - Significant experience and training in general maintenance, advanced repairs, electrical or refrigeration work. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance. - Valid Driver’s License. - Certification or working towards certification in refrigeration or electrical. - Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification. - Must fulfill applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing obligations.

Responsibilities

- Respond to and address guest repair requests promptly. - Communicate effectively with guests to resolve maintenance issues. - Conduct preventive maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating tools and equipment. - Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines regularly. - Identify, locate, and operate all equipment shut-off valves and utility shut-offs. - Manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as required. - Relay daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication protocols. - Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of building systems and emergency response plans. - Exhibit advanced engineering skills and general mechanical abilities. - Showcase professional expertise in at least three areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. - Safely carry out complex repairs on physical property, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards. - Perform routine property inspections to identify safety hazards and equipment issues. - Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures before executing maintenance work. - Maintain knowledge of maintenance contracts and vendor relationships. - Utilize engineering software related to preventative maintenance and energy management. - Troubleshoot advanced Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems effectively. - Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff as needed during supervising absences. - Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds. - Follow company policies for safety and security, and report any incidents or hazards accordingly. - Maintain professional appearance and conduct while engaging with guests and colleagues. - Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier items as needed with help. - Navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders as required, performing various physical activities. - Enter and retrieve work-related information using computers and point of sale systems. - Complete additional reasonable duties as assigned.
