Must:
- Extensive experience in a full-service hotel environment as a Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer, or Assistant Chief Engineer - Proven success in managing engineering operations within a high-volume, complex hotel setting - Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and life safety systems - Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building, developing, and managing high-performing teams - Solid financial insight with experience in budget management, forecasting, and capital planning - Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities - Capability to read, interpret, and create technical documents, reports, and operational procedures - Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with ownership, executive leaders, team members, and vendors - Hands-on experience with general maintenance tasks (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.) - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Provide strong, visible leadership for the Engineering department, establishing clear expectations and performance goals - Recruit, nurture, and retain a skilled engineering team equipped to operate in a full-service, high-volume hotel environment - Cultivate a culture prioritizing safety, urgency, ownership, and continuous improvement - Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Rooms, and Food & Beverage leaders to enhance overall hotel performance - Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, laundry systems, and life safety systems - Ensure optimal efficiency of all equipment and infrastructure with minimal downtime - Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all property systems, such as rooftop units, BMS/controls, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and utility shutoffs - Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house zones, and mechanical rooms to ensure compliance with brand and safety standards - Develop, execute, and continuously refine a robust preventive maintenance strategy across all property sectors - Track and analyze preventive maintenance completion rates, equipment performance, and recurring issues to implement proactive solutions - Safeguard the long-term value of the asset through methodical maintenance practices and timely repairs - Manage the Engineering department budget encompassing labor, parts, contracts, and utilities - Propel cost control initiatives while upholding high operational standards - Spearhead capital expenditure planning, identifying, prioritizing, and executing large-scale repair and replacement projects - Solicit and assess competitive bids for services, equipment, and contracts - Act as the propertys Life Safety Director, ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations - Uphold compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety protocols, and audit requirements - Supervise emergency preparedness, response protocols, and safety training for the engineering team - Maintain precise documentation including maintenance logs, inspection reports, warranties, and compliance records - Manage vendor relationships to guarantee quality workmanship, respect for timelines, and cost-effectiveness - Oversee third-party contractors ensuring all work aligns with brand and property standards - Lead and execute engineering-related projects, renovations, and system upgrades - Ensure 24/7 engineering coverage through effective scheduling and on-call support - Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled - Address guest and operational needs promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience - Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout all internal and external areas of the property
