Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a vocational or technical background
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Extensive experience in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration
- Familiarity with parts inventory and requisition processes
- At least 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
- Strong understanding of safety and security policies
- Must meet relevant state and federal certification and licensing requirements
- No supervisory experience required
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues independently
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including thorough cleaning and lubrication
- Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, or machines
- Safely carry and operate tools and equipment
- Identify and operate all necessary shut-off valves for equipment
- Maintain and manage maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed
- Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved standards
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems
- Display proficiency in multiple skill areas such as refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and general building management
- Conduct complex repairs on various equipment including electrical and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and fix diverse maintenance issues ranging from plumbing to electrical systems
- Safely utilize a Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
- Train and mentor junior engineers as required
- Act as Engineer on Duty when necessary, including conducting routine readings and rounds
- Uphold company standards for safety, appearance, and professionalism in all interactions
- Assist and anticipate the needs of guests, ensuring a high level of customer service
- Maintain a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and open communication
- Perform physical tasks including lifting objects up to 50 pounds and accessing various work locations
