Requirements

Must:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a vocational or technical background. - Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification. - Must meet all relevant state and federal certification and licensing requirements. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance. - Extensive training in general maintenance, electrical, or refrigeration work. - Strong understanding of maintenance inventory and requisition processes. - Familiarity with exterior and interior surface preparation and painting. - Valid Drivers License is required. - No supervisory experience necessary, but ability to mentor others preferred.

Responsibilities

- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate to resolve maintenance issues independently. - Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. - Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery. - Carry and operate necessary equipment such as tools and radios. - Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. - Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as required. - Effectively communicate daily activities and issues with other shifts using approved methods. - Demonstrate advanced ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC. - Utilize strong mechanical skills across various maintenance categories including air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. - Execute complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems adhering to company standards and local codes. - Troubleshoot and fix various types of equipment and systems, including HVAC units and electrical devices. - Implement the Lockout/Tagout system prior to conducting maintenance work. - Exhibit advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs pertinent to preventative maintenance and energy management. - Train and mentor fellow engineers as needed, assume Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds. - Observe all safety and security policies, report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and complete necessary training. - Maintain professionalism with personal appearance and confidentiality of information. - Build and sustain positive working relationships with colleagues and guests while addressing service needs. - Perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving objects and navigating stairs and ladders as required. - Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
