Requirements
Must:
- 8+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale distributed systems in production settings.
- Extensive experience in creating, operating, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong foundation in fault-tolerant, self-recovering software systems at scale.
- Proven knowledge in reliability engineering, scalability, and performance enhancement.
- Practical experience with at least one prominent cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- High proficiency in infrastructure-as-code methodologies and CI/CD processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, mentor senior engineers, and establish technical direction across teams.
- Full-Stack Entrepreneurial Mindset: Must have built at least one full-stack solution delivered to end-users.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities, capable of clearly explaining complex architectural decisions.
- Competence in producing and reviewing high-quality software documentation.
- Capability to communicate effectively with remote team members across different time zones.
Responsibilities
- Define and enhance the core platform architecture for TIP.AI, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective on an enterprise scale.
- Establish and uphold reference architectures, design patterns, and engineering benchmarks for platform services.
- Oversee platform reliability, covering availability, performance, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Define and uphold SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for essential platform services.
- Develop and advance observability frameworks (including metrics, logs, and traces) to ensure comprehensive operational insight.
- Collaborate with security teams to guarantee that platform designs meet enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Create internal platform systems and shared services that enhance developer productivity and consistency.
- Establish CI/CD, deployment, and runtime patterns to facilitate safe and rapid delivery at scale.
- Alleviate the cognitive burden on application teams by abstracting infrastructure complexity behind well-designed platform interfaces.
- Serve as the main technical authority for the TIP.AI Platform team.
- Mentor senior and staff-level engineers, elevating the technical standards across the organization.
- Influence collaboratively without direct authority, closely partnering with product, data, AI, and security leaders.
- Work alongside product, AI, and business leaders to align platform capabilities with TIP.AIs strategic roadmap.
- Convert business and growth objectives into scalable technical strategies.
