Requirements
Must:
We are searching for engineers with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Identity and Access Management as well as software engineering. You should be comfortable using agile development methodologies and possess a strong enthusiasm for developing secure, reliable systems. Given the complexity of our codebase, we expect you to produce clear, concise code along with intuitive documentation to assist fellow engineers in understanding your contributions. You should have a deep understanding of authentication and authorization concepts and protocols (SSO, MFA, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth2), along with hands-on experience with cloud identity providers, preferably Azure EntraID and/or B2C. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Typescript, Go, or Python is required. Experience in securing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is also necessary. Familiarity with FedRAMP or other NIST 800-53 based compliance frameworks is a plus, as is experience utilizing GenAI-infused tools to maximize efficiency. Understanding zero-trust networking principles and tools (e.g., OpenZiti, ngrok) is a strong advantage. A commitment to supporting fellow team members and fostering collaborative relationships is essential.
Responsibilities
If you were part of our team, here are some tasks you could expect to tackle: Collaborate with a Product Manager to get a grasp of the requirements for a new identity feature. Design, construct, and maintain our foundational IAM services and infrastructure using programming languages like Java or Typescript. Implement and manage authentication and authorization solutions employing protocols such as OIDC, OAuth2, and SAML. Develop and support integrations for Single Sign-On (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA) with technologies like Yubikey, and automated user lifecycle management (SCIM). Administer and enhance our Azure EntraID and B2C environments to fulfill security and scalability demands. Contribute to our zero-trust architecture utilizing tools like OpenZiti or other current secure access solutions. Participate in code reviews, both submitting your own code for review and reviewing contributions from others, as part of our secure software development and deployment process. Write clear and concise technical documentation that your colleagues can rely upon. Cultivate an engineering culture that prioritizes security and code quality while maintaining speed to deliver our technology to as many customers as possible. Engage in an on-call rotation.
Description
We value traits such as humility, openness, and curiosity. You acknowledge that no one is perfect, and you are eager to listen and learn as part of your professional journey. You should be an attentive listener who engages with others and is proactive in solving challenging tasks. Enthusiasm for collaboration is key, as we believe the best results arise from shared ownership. Comfort with ambiguity is also important, as you will encounter problems that cannot be fully understood from the outset. A commitment to personal growth will serve you well; view mistakes as learning opportunities, and seek to improve as a designer, colleague, and individual. We encourage and support efforts to assist junior members and foster cooperative relationships across the team. We passionately believe in equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one way we strive to achieve that. The total compensation for this position is competitive, with a target base annual salary range of $110,000 - $135,000, along with bonus potential, company stock options, and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. We are authorized to hire in Canada, the UK, and 45 U.S. states, including Arizona, California (excluding San Francisco), and Florida, among others. Before applying for this remote position, please ensure you can perform the role in one of the listed states. Note that state locations and specifics are subject to change based on our hiring needs. Applicants must already be authorized to work for any employer in the country where this role is being hired, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
