Requirements

Must:
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required. - Location: While Indianapolis is preferred, we are open to other locations. - Technical Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in pipeline operations, engineering, or maintenance is essential. - Professional Engineering License: This is desired but not mandatory. - Leadership: The ability to make informed technical judgments and decisions is necessary. - Communication Skills: Proficient written and oral communication is expected. - Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with various individuals and groups. - Strategic Thinking: Capable of forward-thinking and planning. - Hands-on Experience: Familiarity with electrical parts and construction is preferred, along with project leadership experience. - Adaptability: Willingness to support changes based on department and company objectives and embrace new technologies. - Travel Requirement: 10 – 15%.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical insights on project requirements and feasible solutions. - Lead electrical engineering efforts in project development, design, and addressing electrical issues. - Participate in Technical Design Reviews for Level 2+ projects, ensuring compliance with standards and resolving design conflicts. - Support L&SE in completing Level 0 and 1 project designs independently. - Conduct MOC Evaluations for assigned projects. - Research design concerns and make informed recommendations on equipment. - Contribute electrical input to TAPRoot investigations. - Assist in the development of standards and serve as the owner/Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned standards. - Support project closeouts by reviewing as-built drawings. - Oversee MOC closeouts. - Create standard detail drawings. - Conduct ArcFlash, Hazardous Area Classification, and ETAP reviews for significant projects. - Develop programming requirements for Motor Protection and Feeder Protection relays and train specialists accordingly. - Maintain ownership of all station ETAP models. - Manage Rectifier and Block valve ETAP documentation and maintenance. - Identify needs for electrical generator plans and propose ideas. - Participate as an SME in MPC/Industry Communities of Practice. - Provide expertise for commercial development and special projects, including due diligence reviews and maintenance activities. - Collaborate with third parties, such as contractors, engineering consultants, and equipment vendors. - Assess and evaluate manufacturers for equipment procurement. - Ensure the specification of equipment aligns with fit-for-purpose standards. - Assist the Electrical Reliability Manager in setting budgets and objectives for future years. - Aid other Electrical SMEs in the planning and execution of electrical preventive maintenance as required. - Maintain technical competency and knowledge of various low and medium voltage electrical equipment. - Stay updated on relevant industry standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA 1910, and API RP 500. - Occasionally fill in for the Electrical Reliability Manager or other electrical specialists. - Identify and work toward individual career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.
