Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 1 year of experience in software verification or validation testing
- Preferred experience with manual testing in embedded systems, firmware, or medical device environments
- Familiarity with GUI-based testing and system-level verification
- Experience using test protocols, test execution, and defect tracking tools
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate software verification activities across various integrated systems
- Create, modify, and manually implement software test protocols for existing products
- Employ a risk-based verification method to ensure comprehensive test coverage for high-risk features and failure modes
- Oversee and sustain verification initiatives across all system components, including IPG devices, tablet wands, and tablet software
- Carry out manual test protocols, ensuring detailed and accurate test coverage
- Document, maintain, and organize verification evidence to meet compliance and regulatory standards
- Guarantee traceability between system requirements and verification activities
- Identify deficiencies in test coverage and enhance verification strategies and processes
- Collaborate with engineering teams and external partners/vendors across various functions
- Assist in the continuous updates and improvements of verification processes and documentation
Description
We are proud to support a medical device client in the search for a Software Verification Engineer to assist with verification tasks across their IPG device, tablet wand, and tablet-based software. This vital role is instrumental in maintaining product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance through rigorous software testing and verification techniques. The position is a contract role lasting 6 to 9 months, based in Minneapolis, MN, with an hourly pay rate of $35 to $45, depending on experience.
