Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of image-sensor and optical fundamentals, including key performance metrics and testing methodologies.
- Practical experience with optics metrology tools such as profilometers, spectrometers, haze meters, and contact-angle goniometers.
- Demonstrated ability to design experiments, statistically analyze results, and iterate quickly in a hands-on context.
- Process development approach with consideration for field operators and an emphasis on automation.
- Basic skills in programming languages like MATLAB or Python for data analysis and instrument control.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed test plans for image sensors and optical components in both laboratory and field settings.
- Measure and evaluate performance metrics such as resolution, modulation transfer function, stray light, and contact angle under various environmental conditions.
- Enhance testing methods, fixtures, and workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
- Compile and interpret long-term field data to construct statistical reliability models for optical systems.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to set service and replacement standards, ensuring safety and performance criteria are fulfilled.
