Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience managing extensive Linux desktop environments in production settings
- Strong practical knowledge of Ubuntu/Debian Linux, emphasizing imaging, patching, and support
- Proficient in configuration management solutions such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experience in scripting with Bash and/or Python to automate frequent system tasks
- Familiarity with sprint-based or agile methodologies and tools like Jira for tracking tasks and incidents
Responsibilities
- Execute installation, configuration, patching, and ongoing maintenance for Linux systems across both physical and virtual desktops
- Implement and uphold SaltStack configurations to maintain system standards and automate repetitive tasks
- Participate actively in sprint-based engineering projects aimed at enhancing endpoint reliability, compliance, and lifecycle management
- Provide support for incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations for a large network of Linux systems
- Carry out operational tasks related to OS/software updates, re-imaging, and resolving break/fix situations
