Requirements

Must:
- We prefer a bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. - We look for at least 2 years of experience in industrial electrical or controls engineering; 5+ years in electrical engineering and industrial control systems within manufacturing is a plus. - We value strong hands-on experience with PLC ladder logic programming, with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation platforms preferred. - We seek experience developing HMIs and working with plant-level electrical power distribution systems. - We need familiarity with process integration and optimization in an industrial setting. - We require a solid understanding of industrial instrumentation and the ability to define instrumentation needs for capital projects. - We prefer proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk; experience with PlantPAx 5.0 and OSI PI is a plus. - We expect working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. - We value experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or liquid food processing environments. - We look for strong project management skills, including prioritization, organization, resource allocation, multitasking, and cost analysis. - We want a continuous improvement mindset with proven ability to promote and sustain Kaizen-driven initiatives. - We require the ability to travel to our Appleton, WI facility up to 25% of the time. - We value experience working with customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams such as process and research engineers. - We need excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly. - We look for a collaborative team approach and the ability to work effectively with operators, engineers, and outside contractors. - We expect a proactive approach to identifying and resolving conflicts or issues that could slow operational or project progress. - We require adherence to plant safety policies, regulatory requirements, and participation in safety audits, improvement efforts, hazard reviews, safety teams, and annual training. - We expect compliance with our Quality Policy, SOPs, relevant ISO 9000 standards, and all applicable company policies.

Responsibilities

- We maximize uptime and reduce disruptions to plant control systems and production equipment. - We improve the reliability, stability, and performance of our PLC, HMI, and industrial control platforms. - We deliver the electrical and controls portion of projects on schedule and within approved budgets. - We support our Portage and Appleton sites by traveling between locations as needed. - We design, implement, and maintain plant electrical power distribution, PLC controls, and HMI applications. - We identify and execute projects that address component obsolescence and strengthen system reliability. - We manage control system service agreements to secure the best overall value. - We develop electrical specifications aligned with industry standards, codes, and best practices. - We review, approve, and release detailed electrical drawings for manufacturing, construction, and installation. - We coordinate work for internal and external engineers, programmers, and CAD designers while providing technical guidance. - We communicate project progress, risks, mitigation actions, and improvement opportunities through reports, presentations, and conference calls. - We monitor project execution through regular status reviews and stakeholder coordination. - We prepare capital project requests that clearly define scope, timing, staffing needs, and business rationale. - We track spending against approved budgets and provide consistent updates to project teams and leadership. - We apply Lean and continuous improvement methods to reduce cycle time, enhance quality, and improve reliability. - We evaluate maintenance approaches and recommend spare parts inventories that support dependable operations. - We participate in quarterly capital planning meetings to help shape long-term site investment priorities.
