Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Over 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in Spanish is a considerable advantage
- CSP certification or similar safety credentials preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA, EPA, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in Organizational Change Management
- Background in Workers Compensation
- Skills in establishing and monitoring performance metrics
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and champion a robust EHS culture among both hourly and salaried personnel
- Design, execute, and sustain site-level EHS programs, policies, and training initiatives
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards
- Oversee incident reporting processes, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective measures
- Recognize and mitigate risks through audits, data trend evaluation, and equipment/process reviews
- Manage environmental programs encompassing air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste handling
- Compile and submit necessary environmental documentation (e.g., Tier II, TRI, air emissions)
- Assist with emergency response strategies, drills, and site safety protocols
- Lead or co-chair the plant safety committee and collaborate with facilities on property-related risks
- Drive safety enhancement projects and initiatives for continuous improvement
Description
We are currently seeking to strengthen our manufacturing site by adding two EHS Specialists to our team. The EHS Specialists will take the lead in site-level Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives, promoting a culture committed to safety and supporting our Zero Harm objective. This role involves collaboration with plant leadership and employees to foster continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and proactively manage risks.
