Requirements
Must:
We require a candidate with over 8 years of System Administration experience. Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, and File and Storage Services is essential. You should also have experience with RDS-based VDI, covering user provisioning and basic performance troubleshooting. Additionally, experience in Microsoft Exchange Server administration, which involves mailbox management, database maintenance, and troubleshooting, is necessary. Familiarity with backup and recovery systems (Data Protection Manager or equivalent enterprise solutions) is important. Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to maintain runbooks and checklists, are also key to this role. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will work with a small team to offer comprehensive systems administration support to a dynamic group of researchers at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences. My responsibilities will include assisting with IT systems covering day-to-day operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting for all client/server/storage/network devices and peripherals. I will be expected to provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. Additionally, I will support the escalation and communication of status updates to the management and internal customers of the supported organization. My duties will also involve managing and maintaining Windows VMs and operating systems, which includes installation, configuration, integrity checks, network setup, and performance enhancements.
Description
This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph. Physically, I must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and install various IT devices in racks and on desktops. The individual in this position will frequently engage with co-workers, management, and customers, which may include delivering presentations. Thus, the ability to accurately exchange information in these situations is crucial.
