Must:
We require a minimum of 5 years of senior-level multi-disciplined security experience that includes providing technical support to Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and collateral security oversight. You should have expert knowledge and experience in supporting personnel security programs. Effective performance in this role requires the ability to comprehensively support tasks. As a Security Specialist, you should possess in-depth, or expert knowledge of SAP, SCI, and collateral security requirements, especially in program planning and management, physical, personnel, information, communications, and operations security.
You will be responsible for implementing Executive Order 13526, along with DOE O 472.2 ADMIN CHG 1, Personnel Security; DOE O 471.5, Special Access Programs, and SAP-specific Program Security guidance. This includes ensuring current clearances, timely reinvestigations, and maintaining accurate information in the centralized SAP Personnel Access database system. Strong personnel security experience is essential, and you must be capable of interpreting and applying the guidance of various relevant regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and database management for tracking office reporting is also required.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Security Analyst - SSO Support for the PERSEC Task, you will support the Special Security Officer Support tasks as part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for information protection and customer relations. Your focus will be on SCI personnel security process requests, including data analysis, applying protection criteria, and making appropriate classification decisions regarding information in question. You will interact with both internal and external clients to meet their needs concerning information, personnel, and program security issues.
Additionally, you may act as an intermediary between internal staff offices, government officers, and contractors. Your responsibilities may also include developing educational materials to refresh knowledge about government security policy, assisting the government in developing and applying security measures during all phases of a program's lifecycle, drafting security documents for program participants, and delivering presentations on program security topics. Furthermore, you will assist with the hands-on consultation, analysis, performance, and execution of multi-disciplined SAP, SCI, and collateral security functions to effectively support the SAP Security Division’s mission.
Description
The position requires a high school diploma and 8 years in a related security function. A TS/SCI security clearance with eligibility for SAP, as well as PR within 5 years or enrollment in CE (deferred), is mandatory, along with passing a drug test and possible polygraph.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree with 12-15 years of related security experience and a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Travel to geographically dispersed government sites (CONUS) is expected at around 10%.
Physical requirements entail the ability to remain stationed for up to 75% of the time, moving about the office to access file cabinets and machinery, and communicating effectively with co-workers, management, and customers. Observing and detecting deviations from established policy is also a vital aspect of this role.
