Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree or over 4 years of experience in place of a degree.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in networking, including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux systems, as well as a strong understanding of general operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain an IAT Level II or higher certification within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with clients for onboarding, updates, and resolving issues related to network tools.
- Provide insights into efficiencies that can be realized from the current workflow based on understanding client requirements.
- Partner with engineers on troubleshooting and developing proof-of-concept network topologies.
- Evaluate customer feedback to facilitate process enhancements.
- Deliver engineering support and system administration for specialized network applications and systems, which includes installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore.
- Offer Tier 3 maintenance and engineering support for deployed network technologies.
- Identify potential conflicts during the implementation of any network tools within the organization and develop recommendations to address these conflicts.
- Propose ideas for automating repetitive project tasks and collecting metrics through scripting, and assist with testing and implementation into production.
Description
ManTech is in search of an enthusiastic, career-focused, and client-oriented Principal Network Engineer to be part of our team in Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, I will be responsible for enhancing network modeling for different vendor network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls, along with virtual network devices and cloud environments. I aim to research the features of various network devices impacting “access” and formulate a proposal for modeling these features in RedSeal. Additionally, I will introduce new data streams from network devices into RedSeal’s analytics engine. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with programming languages like Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, and Node.js. - Knowledge of federal Security Guidance, such as NIST SP 800-37 – Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to Federal Information Systems and NIST 800-137 – Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. Clearance Requirements: - Must possess a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Physical Requirements: - The individual in this role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally moving around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with coworkers, management, and customers through email, phone, or virtual communication, which may include delivering presentations.
