Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's degree in Science and have over 10 years of relevant experience as a Computer Network Architect.
- I possess more than 5 years of experience in supporting computer networking technologies within the Department of Defense, which is highly preferred.
- I have professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, and VCP-NV.
- I have experience in performing simulations and capacity planning to foresee future network needs and identify potential bottlenecks.
- I am skilled in researching and recommending appropriate network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (network management tools) to meet business requirements.
- I possess a foundational understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS).
Responsibilities
- I am responsible for designing, planning, and implementing computer networks.
- I assess the business needs of NETMOD to create efficient data communication systems using hardware and software components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- I ensure network security and optimize performance.
- I collaborate with other IT teams to analyze network traffic, identify potential issues, and propose upgrades to maintain optimal network functionality.
- I demonstrate experience in conducting analysis, developing solutions, and applying information technology.
- I produce and review technical documentation that reflects detailed knowledge of my specific technical area.
- I recommend measures for improving methods, performance, and quality of products or services.
- I create detailed network blueprints, including LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and intranets, while considering factors such as bandwidth requirements, security protocols, and scalability.
Description
MANTECH is seeking a driven, career-oriented Computer Network Architect to join our team in Belcamp, MD. This role is onsite. As a Computer Network Architect, I will support the Army in the Network Modernization & Mission Network Technical Service Support program (NetMod). NetMod outlines the required work efforts to provide technical support services for systems and equipment produced, fielded, modified, or supported by PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network under the Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network (TN) of the Program Executive Office for Command Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T). My role may also include future systems and equipment acquired for the Army to maintain its technological advantage. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with network automation and scripting. - Familiarity with network design principles, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF). - Experience in monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving network issues, and implementing necessary upgrades. Clearance Requirements: - I must be a US citizen with a current/active Secret clearance. Physical Requirements: - I can remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. - I can occasionally move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. - I frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information in these situations.
