We seek candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field to assume the duties of a Senior Network Administrator, or 4 additional years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 9 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a position-specific relevant role.
- A deep understanding of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Specialized knowledge in areas such as network security, cloud computing, network automation, or specific protocols may be required.
- Possession of certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Security+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or other vendor-specific accreditations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, implementation, and upkeep of complex network infrastructure across various security domains, including classified networks, ensuring high availability and robust security.
- Utilizing expert-level knowledge of advanced networking protocols, security best practices, and infrastructure technologies.
- Managing complex network infrastructure devices, enforcing network security policies, configuring advanced access control lists (ACL), and applying software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.
- Conducting advanced system troubleshooting, implementing comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, and ensuring the availability and resilience of critical network services.
- Developing and maintaining detailed network documentation, providing technical guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators, and researching emerging technologies.
- Contributing to the creation and delivery of specialized network security training and awareness programs, fostering a culture of security awareness.
- Providing direction and mentorship to subordinate staff.
Description
Ideal candidates will possess: - A Master’s degree in network engineering, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field, along with experience supporting DoD programs and familiarity with cloud-based technologies. - Experience with military/diplomatic operations within a J-6/G-6/S-6 Directorate or with Special Operations Forces (SOF) or the Department of State (DoS), leading and conducting cybersecurity risk assessments across various commands, agencies, and regionally distributed locations in a Security Operations Center (SOC). - An ITIL Foundation certificate, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and cloud certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). - Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or its components is desirable. Clearance Requirements: - Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance. Physical Requirements: - The ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time. - Frequently operating a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as calculators, copy machines, and printers. - Regular communication with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Candidates must be able to convey accurate information effectively in these situations.
