Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. If you don't hold a Bachelor’s degree, I will accept five (5) additional years of relevant experience as a substitute.
- You should have a total of fourteen (14) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Linux operating systems is essential.
- An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- I need you to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of IT systems. This includes performing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- You will support daily operations and monitoring, addressing issues related to client/server/storage/network devices and mobile systems.
- It's important for you to escalate and communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers.
- I expect you to optimize system operations and resource utilization, as well as conduct system capacity analysis and planning.
- You will be configuring and managing Linux and Windows operating systems; installing and maintaining OS software; and implementing system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining system and network integrity is crucial. I will rely on you to provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal stakeholders on escalated issues.
- You will assist in designing systems, mission architecture, and the associated hardware.
- Analyzing and resolving complex problems related to server hardware, software, and application integration is required. You should maintain a working knowledge of system administration dependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Description
This opportunity is for a Senior Linux System Administrator to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, while also managing the IT system infrastructure and associated processes. Please be prepared for a position that involves physical requirements such as remaining in a stationary position for 50% of the time and frequently operating office machinery. You will also be regularly communicating with colleagues, management, and customers, which may include presenting information.
