Requirements
Must:
We require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline along with 20 years of experience, or 24 years of total experience. Alternatively, a Master’s Degree with 18 years of experience will also be considered. Compliance with DoD 8570 at IASAE Level 3 is essential, along with certification in Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) and CISSP. You should possess skills in security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management. Additionally, previous experience in recommending system-level solutions for security requirements and identifying security requirements for handling Government data is necessary. Knowledge of a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and Continuous Monitoring Plan is required, as is the ability to conduct Pre-Security Controls and Analysis Assessments (PSAs). You will be expected to provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology into ongoing operations.
Responsibilities
As an Information System Security Engineer, you will participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams responsible for design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments. You will apply your knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) policy and procedures while supporting the government in complying with Agency Systems Security Certification & Accreditation (C&S) processes. This includes managing security relevant changes to mission systems, ensuring that System Security Plan (SSP) documentation is up-to-date, and maintaining Authorization to Operate (ATO) status. In addition, you will support gaining successful accreditation with appropriate agency elements and fill the role of Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
