Must:
I am looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science along with over 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Department of Defense engaging in information management-related tasks.
- Certification and training in Information Assurance (IA) as mandated by the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.
- A solid understanding of network protocols and security principles.
- Proven experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively identify and mitigate security threats.
Responsibilities
As an Information Security Analyst, my responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Offering support for network environments and advanced computing environments.
- Paying close attention to intrusion detection, identifying and remedying unprotected vulnerabilities, and ensuring the security of remote access points.
- Gathering data from various Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, and host system logs, to analyze events happening within our environment.
- Applying critical thinking to this data in compliance with relevant non-technical controls, such as physical security and configuration management, while supporting audit functions for the Agent of the Certification Authority (ACA) or other government Information Assurance managers to mitigate risks and generate reports, including those for certification and accreditation packages or for Certification of Networthiness efforts.
- Conducting vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and incident responses.
- Actively monitoring network traffic for unusual activities and potential security breaches.
- Proactively identifying weaknesses in systems and applications to address security risks.
Description
I seek a motivated, career-focused, and customer-oriented Information Security Analyst to join my team in Belcamp, MD. This position requires you to work on-site. The Information Security Analyst will support the Army for the Network Modernization & Mission Network Technical Service Support program (NetMod). This program outlines the necessary efforts to provide technical support services for systems and equipment being developed, deployed, modified, or supported by PdM Network Modernization and PdM Mission Network within the Project Manager Tactical Network of the Program Executive Office for Command Control and Communications-Tactical. Additionally, this support may extend to future systems and equipment procured to help the Army maintain its technological edge. Preferred Qualifications: I would also value candidates with: - A basic understanding of programming. - Experience in participating in simulated cyberattacks to uncover vulnerabilities in systems and applications. - Experience in updating and implementing complex security systems for an organization. Clearance Requirements: Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a current/active Secret clearance. Physical Requirements: Candidates should be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time. They may occasionally need to move around the office to access files, equipment, etc. The role involves frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, including presentations, so the ability to convey accurate information in these contexts is essential.
