We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and work experience totaling at least 8 years. A strong understanding of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to read and comprehend cable run lists is essential. Candidates should have experience installing endpoints such as desktop IT equipment, printers, VOIP and digital phones, as well as network switches. Additionally, proficiency in resolving technical issues and answering queries involving computer hardware, networks, and telecommunications systems is required.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will support all aspects of network installations, including the physical placement of CAT5 and fiber optic cables, wall jacks, racks, and communications equipment as necessary. You will be responsible for installing, pulling, and terminating cables, determining and implementing required pin-outs, utilizing power supplies, testing and documenting installations, and properly dressing and labeling cables, racks, and patch panels. You will support projects related to cabling and implementation, ensuring compliance with design documents and build-to packages. Local travel may be necessary between customer buildings or for temporary assignments in support of special projects. As part of a team with diverse skills, you will provide coverage from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility to support 24/7 operations. You may be required to work extended hours during critical peaks and remain available for last-minute requests.
Description
Preferred qualifications include related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation, as well as experience with the implementation of network LAN infrastructure. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and requirements, along with a capacity to rapidly learn new skills while on the job. A current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is a mandatory requirement for this position. Physical requirements involve remaining stationary for at least 25% of the time, constantly operating office equipment, and being able to traverse between buildings and rooms. The role may require moving and maintaining equipment or cabling, including working in confined spaces, lifting audio/visual or computer equipment weighing over 50 pounds, and ascending or descending ladders exceeding 10 feet while performing certain tasks.
