Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field in Cyber Security.
- Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is necessary within six months of taking the position; failure to obtain this certification may lead to removal from the role.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, including hands-on technical management and operational security support.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, principles, and technologies.
- Proficiency in SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity management tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and report potential cyber threats, intrusions, and unusual system behaviors. Actively participate in incident response and recovery efforts.
- Oversee and maintain systems that support Identity Management, Privileged User Access, Access Control (firewall), Endpoint Protection, Internet Security, Vulnerability Scanning, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Design and implement enterprise-level strategies to mitigate complex vulnerabilities.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, patching, upgrading, and performance of cybersecurity tools and applications while maintaining system resilience and availability across all managed technologies.
- Enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices in line with our security framework and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing technical guidance and subject matter expertise to junior team members. Continuously assess internal and external cybersecurity trends and business challenges, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance enterprise security posture.
- Monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems as well as other security event data sources; determine if security events warrant escalation to incidents, adhering to all applicable incident response and reporting protocols.
Description
- Preferred Qualifications: - A solid understanding of DISA compliance directives and familiarity with the JSIG. - Capability to lead small teams or projects. - Excellent communication and influencing skills, along with sound judgment in identifying and mitigating security risks. - Ability to correlate data from intrusion detection and prevention systems with information from various sources. - Clearance Requirements: - Must possess a current or active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Yankee White security clearance. - Physical Requirements: - Must be able to maintain a stationary position for 50% of the time. - The person in this role will occasionally need to navigate within the office to access files, office machinery, etc. - Regularly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and printer. - Frequently communicate with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to share accurate information in these situations.
