Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of professional experience in government policy writing, compliance, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting DoD organizations in enterprise IT or cyber operations (both defensive and offensive).
- Extensive knowledge of policy frameworks, including National, DoD, and Non-DoD publications affecting cyber operations.
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources, including legal and regulatory documents.
- Proficient in using document and content management systems to organize policy libraries.
- Experience creating DoD, Service, and Operational Unit level instructions and documentation.
- Capable of translating complex engineering and policy concepts into clear, succinct documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic perspective to address potential risks.
- Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy and consistency in all policy documents.
- Bachelors degree with 18+ years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with 10+ years.
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the policy lifecycle from initial research to implementation and evaluation.
- Conduct thorough research on relevant laws and regulations to inform policy recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to collect necessary information and approvals within the organization.
- Draft, edit, and proofread various government policy documents.
- Develop and implement communication strategies for new and revised policies.
- Perform periodic reviews and audits of existing policies to ensure ongoing relevance and compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on complex policy-related issues.
- Mentor and guide the documentation team on government policy writing best practices.
