Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in software development or a related field
- Proficiency with Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing tools such as HP Fortify, HP WebInspect, HCL Appscan, Snyk, Checkmarx, Synopsys, and Veracode
- Specialized experience in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) methodologies
- Capability to perform manual code reviews to identify vulnerabilities and advocate best coding practices
- Familiarity with application vulnerability and security assessment tools including Burp Suite Pro, OWASP Zap Proxy, DirBuster, Kali Linux, Metasploit Pro, Accunetix, Insight AppSec, GitLab, Coverity, Fortify, and GitHub Enterprise
- Experience in evaluating application vulnerabilities and addressing bugs across various applications
- Skills in developing security testing pipelines and test plans
- Experience in executing an organization-wide Application Security program (DAST and SAST) for verifying, reporting, and resolving security vulnerabilities in both developmental and production environments
- Knowledge of programming languages including Java, .NET, Python, PHP, C++, and C#
- Extensive experience in crafting test plans, writing test cases, executing tests, and overseeing remediation efforts
- Understanding and expertise in applying FISMA, NIST, OMB guidelines, and other federal regulations
- Experience in interpreting and applying FISMA/NIST requirements focused on practical implementation and documentation
- Knowledge of security frameworks for cloud-hosted environments, applications, and services
- Experience in creating System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, Continuous Monitoring Plans, and Plans of Action & Milestones
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage assignments independently with minimal oversight
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and work autonomously or within a team
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens who can obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance and have not resided outside the U.S. for more than 6 months in the last 5 years, maintaining U.S. residency during that time.
Responsibilities
- Address complex challenges that involve multiple interfaces and critical issues affecting agency-wide IT operations, maintenance, and security infrastructure
- Oversee and manage a diverse array of security systems and tools
- Administer cloud-based security applications like Azure Security Center, Microsoft 365 Security Suite, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager, among others
- Manage all IT Security systems focusing on patch management, upgrades, integration engineering, and detailed reporting
- Implement security-related operational tasks
- Supervise security incident detection, response, and remediation efforts
- Conduct analyses of cyber threats and vulnerabilities, applying necessary remediation measures
- Establish security metrics while managing reporting and compliance efforts
- Participate as a member of the Incident Response Team
- Assist in the operational application of FISMA/NIST standards and industry best practices
- Coordinate the IT Security awareness training program in collaboration with the Learning Management team, creating and delivering training modules
- Oversee the Password Management system in collaboration with the Service Desk
- Respond to IT Security service tickets generated by both customers and IT personnel
- Provide technical solutions and expertise in support of Security Operations and Engineering
- Identify security risks and propose strategies for risk mitigation
- Review new and existing systems to ensure compliance with baseline security requirements and recommend enhancements
- Design security architecture and technical solutions for various security products.
