Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or relevant experience in a network engineering-focused area.
- Strong comprehension of network infrastructure and hardware.
- Proficiency in thinking through problems and visualizing solutions.
- Capability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot network devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
- Familiarity with application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
- Ability to create precise network diagrams and documentation for the design and planning of network communication systems.
- Competence to provide detailed information for hardware and software selections.
- Aptitude to rapidly learn about new or unfamiliar technologies and products using documentation and online resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with all staff levels, both within and beyond IT, as well as outside the organization.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being comfortable in a team setting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Reliable and adaptable when needed.
- Experience in network security.
- Experience with LAN and WAN.
Responsibilities
- I will maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, which includes systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- I will perform disaster recovery operations and data backups as required.
- I will protect data, software, and hardware by planning and implementing network security measures.
- I will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system issues.
- I will replace faulty network hardware components as necessary.
- I will manage, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications.
- I will monitor network performance to identify if adjustments are needed.
- I will communicate with network users to address existing system problems.
- I will operate master consoles to oversee the performance of networks and computer systems.
- I will coordinate computer network access and usage.
- I will design, configure, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
- Some travel may be required.
- I will lead and manage the network team.
