Requirements
Must:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering focused on Geotechnical Engineering
- Over 10 years of direct experience in large civil projects
- Proficient with geotechnical software like APILE, LPILE, SLOPE/W, SLIDE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, PLAXIS for various analyses
- Familiar with AASHTO (LRFD) and LFD/ASD methods applicable to engineering evaluations
- Preference for knowledge of Florida/Georgia geology and local practices
- Understanding of GDOT and FHWA guidelines for foundations and pavement assessment
- Strong analytical skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Responsibilities
- Drive safety initiatives within the team and ensure adherence to safety protocols and practices
- Provide mentoring and training for team members in both technical and leadership areas
- Oversee geotechnical project progress to guarantee quality and timely results while coordinating with clients regarding any project scope adjustments
- Execute and supervise complex geotechnical analyses, report evaluations, and preparation
- Review field and lab test outcomes, along with geotechnical recommendations critically
- Create and oversee technical proposals while managing client expectations and ensuring satisfaction
- Identify and manage project execution risks, ensuring quality assurance of technical elements and assisting the ROL on both proposal and non-technical matters
- Collaborate with the ROL on risk assessments for different contract types
- Supervise geotechnical design components, including various foundation types, tunnels, earth structures, and retaining systems
- Conduct evaluations for pavement management and other engineering analyses
- Oversee ground improvement systems, dewatering processes, and relevant testing
- Lead pile driving analysis and instrumentation evaluation
- Enhance MC²s geotechnical consulting presence within the market
- Offer advanced and meaningful solutions to clients in geotechnical engineering
- Foster continuous quality enhancement on projects and monitor adherence to quality standards
- Develop initial designs or investigative approaches for significant project phases, while also leading the engineering work for moderate-sized projects
- Coordinate all engineering tasks, ensuring effective scheduling and collaboration
- Conduct on-site inspections and investigations as required
- Uphold and support all site safety regulations and practices
- Engage with clients and stakeholders at industry-related social events
