Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma; Associates Degree in Information Technology preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of IT support experience or a related combination of education and experience
- Strong experience in providing end-user IT support and customer service
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for Windows 7 PCs and peripherals
- Familiarity with small networks including DSL, Broadband, and secure WiFi configurations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010
- Basic understanding of Active Directory
- Knowledge of Exchange distribution groups and resources
- Ability to convey IT concepts to non-IT professionals
- Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for travel requirements
Responsibilities
- Handle and resolve IT trouble tickets logged via our call tracking system
- Provide comprehensive IT support to all Lutheran Social Services offices in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan
- Manage front-line support tasks including responding to calls and emails, and tracking issues
- Address and resolve immediate support issues while escalating as necessary
- Perform remote installation, upgrades, and maintenance of IT software for end users
- Follow established IT policies and instructions for task execution
- Work independently when needed
- Monitor pending tickets, ensuring timely resolution or updates
- Travel occasionally as required for the role
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management
Description
We, at Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, are excited to welcome an IT Customer Support Specialist to our Help Desk team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for gaining practical IT experience, with compensation ranging from $20 to $22 per hour. Our corporate office, located in West Allis, operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring no weekend or on-call duties. Team members will commence their roles onsite for onboarding and training, with potential flexibility for occasional remote work post-training completion.
