Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a corporate setting, with additional experience in other organizations being a plus. - Possession of A+, Network+, or MCP Certification, or any valid equivalent certification. - Expert technical understanding of desktop hardware and software, including proficiency in Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Microsoft Office applications. - In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP-based LAN and WAN networks. - Solid hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting. - Familiarity with programming languages such as Visual Basic, .Net languages, and web programming/reporting tools such as Crystal Reports. - Strong ability to operate various tools, components, and peripheral devices. - Capable of reading, understanding, and even updating technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. - Research skills pertaining to PC issues and products. - Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities. - Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a user-friendly manner. - Strong commitment to customer service. - A valid NY State driver’s license and reliable transportation. - A combination of education and experience that proves proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be considered as a substitute for the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

- I will perform on-site analyses, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, recommending and implementing corrective measures, including off-site repairs for remote users when necessary. - I will install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware/software to ensure optimal desktop service levels. - I will assess and implement necessary performance upgrades to PC components, including the installation of CPUs, NIC cards, hard disks, RAM, and other hardware. - I will work closely with the Network Manager and Server Administrator to ensure the desktop computing environment operates efficiently. - I will administer and resolve issues with user workstation software products and applications as needed. - I will handle incoming calls, emails, and work order requests regarding desktop issues. - I will assist in preparing, maintaining, and enforcing procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring desktop operations and help requests. - I will keep an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network cards, and other related equipment. - I will accurately document instances of desktop equipment failures, repairs, installations, and removals, analyzing data to identify trends and corrective actions. - I will recommend long-term strategies and capacity planning to meet future desktop hardware needs. - I will manage purchases related to PCs and desktop hardware. - I will assist with the deployment and maintenance of phone equipment as required.
