Requirements

Must:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in software development, with at least 3 years in senior or lead positions focusing on full-stack or backend development. - Technical Skills: - Proficient in JavaScript, particularly with the React framework for creating responsive web applications; experience with state management (e.g., Redux, Context API) and component libraries is necessary. - Strong background in Go for backend development, covering concurrency patterns, REST APIs, authentication, and database interactions. - Required experience with PostgreSQL for database design, queries, and managing spatial data within geospatial applications. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions). - Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, and a proactive attitude towards project execution. - Nice-to-Have: Experience in the Water Resources or agricultural technology sector; knowledge of POSTGIS and GIS/mapping libraries (e.g., ESRI, Leaflet, Mapbox); past involvement with forms-heavy or data-intensive SaaS products. - Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). - Other: Must be able to work on-site in Johnstown, Colorado; U.S. work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement API integrations between One Red, HydroData, and ProducerConnect, ensuring secure and seamless data synchronization. - Develop and optimize frontend components using React to create intuitive user interfaces for data visualization and workflows. - Construct scalable backend services in Go to manage data processing, error handling, and performance optimization. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and stakeholders, to define project requirements, conduct code reviews, and meet deadlines. - Produce clean, maintainable code along with comprehensive testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end) using frameworks such as Jest, Go's testing package, or similar tools. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, utilizing monitoring tools to maintain system reliability. - Document code, APIs, and deployment processes to ensure knowledge transfer and future scalability. - Mentor junior developers and participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

We are a dynamic technology organization located in Johnstown, Colorado, called Longitude 103. Our focus is on crafting custom web and mobile applications for the Water Resources industry and its connected sectors. We aim to empower professionals in agriculture and environmental management with innovative SaaS solutions that enhance data management and workflows. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Developer to play a crucial role in the technical execution of an essential project: the integration of β€œOne Red into HydroData and ProducerConnect.” This position emphasizes the development of robust and scalable backend and frontend components, aimed at improving data flow for our agricultural SaaS platform. As a project-based hire, you will be contributing to a significant initiative, with the potential to transition to a permanent role if the project extends based on success and organizational needs. This is an engagement lasting 8 months, starting from November 1, 2025, where you will participate in hands-on development in a collaborative Agile environment using tools like Jira and Git. Ideal candidates will possess senior-level skills in React for dynamic user interfaces and/or Go for efficient backend services and have a passion for tackling challenging integration issues in data-intensive domains. We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 annually (pro-rated for the project duration) based on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation accrual, and IRA matching.
