Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates who have:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline, along with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in C# development.
- Proficiency in creating PL/SQL stored procedures and functions.
- Familiarity with writing unit tests for all methods.
- Good communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
- The capacity to manage multiple competing tasks effectively.
- Basic Linux/Windows systems administration experience, which is an advantage.
- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting Linux/Windows-based application servers, such as WebSphere, is favorable.
- Shell scripting experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to:
- Rewrite and improve existing applications as needed.
- Analyze business requirements and convert them into detailed technical specifications, followed by the design and implementation of solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Develop a strong understanding of business processes and acquire knowledge of new and existing technologies.
- Demonstrate strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and evaluate technologies effectively.
- Collaborate efficiently within a team environment while being able to work independently.
Description
We currently have an opening for a Senior C# Developer with some Java experience in Washington, DC. This position supports the development of innovative C# and J2EE applications for the United States Postal Service. Remote work is possible at this time, however, if USPS decides to eliminate remote options, everyone will be required to work from the USPS headquarters in DC. Candidates must qualify for a government security investigation relevant to sensitive information access, maintain USPS Public Trust Clearance, and be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least the past five years. Candidates should not have been outside the United States for more than 180 days during the last five years. A pre-employment background check and drug test are also part of the hiring process. This job is full-time on a W2 contract basis and is projected for a duration of 12+ months. We have been engaged with this project for over 20 years, and candidates are expected to reside in the DMV area. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts. Compensation for this position ranges from $98,000 to $100,000 annually. We offer a range of benefits, including 401(k), dental, health, life, and vision insurance, along with paid time off.
