Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM-related discipline
- At least 10 years of professional experience
- About 5 years of experience in developing modeling and simulation software within multi-platform environments
- Experience assisting HPC users with workflow on mod/sim issues and GUIs
- Understanding of High Performance Computing (HPC) environments and technologies
- Proven skills in Fortran, C, and/or C++ programming
- Proficient in BASH and Korn
- Competence in Linux Operating Systems, with capability to resolve end-user system issues independently in a lab
- Familiarity with software development practices including coding standards, unit testing, and configuration management
- Strong analytical and debugging skills to maintain existing code integrity
- Experience in creating and presenting training workshops, tutorials, or onboarding materials for HPC users and internal teams
Responsibilities
- Serve as an integral member of the Technical User Support (TUS) team, interacting with team members, the TUS lead, program Chief Scientist, customers, users, and site personnel
- Collaborate with users to optimize, port, and parallelize codes according to their specifications
- Provide mentorship to junior team members, offering technical direction, code review sessions, and career advice
- Design and conduct training workshops and develop documentation to support end-users and staff in adopting HPC tools and best coding practices
- Participate in system performance analysis, including benchmarking and tuning libraries, focusing on scientific modeling and software issues
- Analyze user codes and recommend improvements related to HPC software
- Assist users in adapting to production shared resources and understanding scheduling and high-performance data storage systems
