Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace)
- Proficiency in National Instruments LabVIEW and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)
- Practical experience with electronics in a lab setting
- Aptitude for troubleshooting lab systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and similar tools
- Capability to create and interpret wiring diagrams
- Advanced degrees (Masters or Ph.D.) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering are preferred
- Experience in designing electrical circuits with both analog and digital components
- Familiarity with operating and maintaining data acquisition systems
- Knowledge of programming languages such as NI LabVIEW, MATLAB, and FORTRAN for developing new capabilities
- Experience with 3D Solid Modeling CAD software like CATIA V5 or SolidWorks is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility to support extended and off-shift work schedules
- Experience working safely in hazardous laboratory conditions
- Strong documentation skills to convey technical information
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical and instrumentation engineering support for our low speed wind tunnel facility
- Engage in instrumentation, development, operation, and maintenance of wind tunnel electro-mechanical systems
- Support installation and operation of wind tunnel test articles
- Operate wind tunnel data acquisition systems
- Conduct repair and maintenance tasks as needed
- Troubleshoot hands-on with various systems
- Adapt to varying tasks across the department and provide assistance to other lab teams as required
- Foster strong working relationships within the team
