Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience with satellite design, integration, testing, and/or operations
- Background in subsystem or component work, as a CPE (Certified Professional Engineer), RSE (Responsible Systems Engineer), or similar
- Demonstrated leadership experience in resolving technical challenges
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance required
- Experience in spacecraft integration across multiple subsystems
- Strong ability to lead teams and address complex issues
- Thorough understanding of systems engineering, mission assurance, and product certification for high-reliability space systems
- Ability to convey intricate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficient application of engineering processes to deliver high-stakes, mission-critical satellite systems
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, balancing cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk
- Capability to lead issue resolution and promote cross-functional collaboration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-building and consensus
- In-depth technical knowledge of assigned products, with mentoring capabilities
- Willingness to assume full responsibility and authority to ensure mission success
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with shifting responsibilities
- Readiness to support 24/7 operational needs if necessary
- Desired exposure to OPIR programs (6 months), LM Space experience (3 years), similar product experience (2 years), technical experience (4+ years), and leadership experience (3+ years)
- Preferably possess a Masters degree in Systems Engineering, INCOSE certification, or a relevant graduate certificate
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required
Responsibilities
- Supervise all performance and integration activities related to the NGG Space Vehicle, leading to final satellite certification for launch
- Ensure compliance of Element Level and lower CPEs/RSEs for hardware, software, and databases with spacecraft level technical standards
- Manage the development and verification processes for Space Vehicle requirements
- Oversee space vehicle certification processes
- Chair Space Vehicle level Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Failure Review Boards (FRBs) investigations
- Conduct failure analysis for root cause identification and corrective actions
- Communicate effectively with program and customer management
- Occasionally travel for subcontractor oversight and launch campaigns
