Software Safety Engineer - Level 4

- Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline (preferred fields include Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering) - Demonstrated expertise in System or Software Safety analyses, standards, and tools - Proven experience in leading projects and teams - Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in cross-functional contexts - Knowledge of safety-critical software architectural design, coding, or testing - Familiarity with software quality assurance - Experience managing software safety requirements throughout the entire development process from hazard identification to system/software qualification testing - Military or civilian flight experience is a plus - Understanding of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754 - Awareness of FAA and military regulations and practices - Ability to craft technical reports on complex topics - Experience engaging with military or government programs - Knowledge of Statistical Analysis Methods - Model-based System Engineering (MBSE) proficiency - Experience collaborating with international clients and suppliers - Familiarity with government contract execution processes - Capability to evaluate if the software development team has effective management of documentation - Skill in assessing software product evaluation artifacts to ensure appropriate development assurance levels during audits - Competence in ensuring that requirements-based test outcomes meet essential criteria for standard range, robustness, and boundary testing - Experience mentoring junior team members
