Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or above from an accredited university in a relevant field of study; or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages
- Familiarity with Linux or RTOS (real-time operating systems) and their associated development toolchains
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle in a collaborative setting (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers
- Expertise as a technical lead or Subject Matter Expert in various subsystem developments
- Proficient in development environments for both Windows and Linux
- Background in embedded systems software development
- Capability in developing software for aerospace vehicle systems
- Experience with models and simulations for hardware
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, GitLab, Jira, and other software collaboration tools
- Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IP, UDP, RTP)
- Knowledge of hardware protocols (e.g., ARINC-429, RS-485, I2C, SPI)
- Experience working with safety and flight-critical software development processes (e.g., MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01, DO-178)
- Willingness to travel as necessary
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the entirety of the development lifecycle, from requirements generation to software design, implementation, integration, and flight testing
- Develop next-generation avionics services and safety-critical Operational Flight Program (OFP) software while integrating vital hardware subsystems
- Engage in comprehensive integration activities across various host systems, including live assets with diverse capabilities and simulated environments
- Execute constructive simulations both with physical hardware and system simulations
