Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university, preferred field is Software Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software development, particularly with Java and C++ proficiency
- Familiarity with JavaFX and features in Java 21
- Proficiency in using Git version control
- Experience in deploying and managing software within a Linux environment, preferably RHEL8
- Knowledge of Eclipse IDE
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming design principles and patterns
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to fulfill job requirements
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance required at the time of application
- Desired skills include:
- Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of the Missile Defense domain
- Experience with MySQL for database management
- Familiarity with gRPC and RESTful services
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket)
- Security+ certification
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software solutions for the Missile Defense Agencys Ground-Based Mid-course Defense program
- Design, document, test, and debug software applications and systems ensuring logical solutions
- Collaborate with fellow software and systems engineers to gather user requirements and analyze system capabilities
- Prepare operating instructions and ensure adherence to software standards
- Support advanced stages of software development lifecycle including requirements definition and deployment
- Prioritize tasks effectively for project completion with minimal oversight
- Employ systems thinking to ensure products are scalable and meet user needs
- Maintain open and effective communication with team members and customer representatives
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment with diverse tasks and cross-disciplinary collaboration
