Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field (preferably Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering)
- Comprehensive experience throughout the entire lifecycle of system safety analyses, standards, and tools
- Proven capability to lead projects and teams in addressing complex issues, including direct engagement with senior management and the capacity to navigate challenging relationships with customers and suppliers
- Expertise in safety-critical software architecture design, coding, and testing
- Familiarity with software quality assurance
- Experience managing software safety requirements through all development stages, from hazard identification to system qualification testing
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754
- Understanding of FAA and military regulations and procedures
- Previous experience in crafting technical reports on intricate subjects
- Experience with military or government projects
- Proficiency in Statistical Analysis Methods
- Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience collaborating with international clients and suppliers
- Understanding of government contract execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey information across various functions
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate software components that are critical for safety, adhering to MIL-STD-882
- Conduct safety analyses and hazard evaluations related to aerospace operations, maintenance, and support equipment
- Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams to establish safety requirements, verification strategies, and risk mitigation plans
- Offer technical mentorship and support to junior engineers regarding safety-oriented development methodologies
