Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution in a relevant field or equivalent experience with at least 3 years in the industry. - Proficient in C programming language. - Familiarity with Linux or RTOS (real-time operating systems) and relevant development toolchains. - Experience working in a collaborative software development environment, including peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, and defect tracking. - Must possess a Secret clearance, updated within the last 5 years, to work at our facility. - Knowledge in developing software for avionics systems is preferred. - Experience in integrating hardware with software. - Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python. - Experience with build tools and environments like Make and CMake. - Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence). - Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IP, UDP, RTP). - Knowledge of hardware protocols (e.g., ARINC-429, RS-485, I2C, SPI). - Understanding of safety-critical software development processes (e.g., MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01, DO-178). - Experience with modeling and simulation tools, including MATLAB. - Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships and work well with others. - Strong decision-making and judgement capabilities. - Experience leading small technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the complete software development lifecycle encompassing various avionics services, ground station development, and mission system software technologies. - Assist in the development of ground stations for both manned and unmanned systems. - Create simulations to aid in software development activities. - Collaborate with key software and systems engineers to establish requirements for rapid prototype projects. - Engage in integration and testing events. - Support the planning and scheduling of critical integration and milestone events.
