Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. - Proficient understanding of RF/microwave design concepts, including transmission lines, waveguides, impedance matching, and antenna principles. - Practical experience with RF testing equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, and power meters. - Familiarity with satellite communication systems or space-related RF payload development. - Active Top Secret clearance with capability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. - 2+ years of experience in the design, analysis, or testing of space RF systems is preferred. - Skilled in RF simulation software, such as HFSS, ADS, CST, MATLAB, or Simulink. - Experience with Earth-Space Antennas (ESAs), phased arrays, reflectors, or electronically steered antennas. - Knowledge of communication system design, including modulation techniques, coding, and link budgets. - Awareness of radiation, thermal, and reliability requirements for space-qualified equipment. - Hands-on experience with antenna assessments in anechoic chambers. - Strong verbal communication skills to articulate technical ideas to leadership and clients.

Responsibilities

- Design, model, and assess space RF systems, including Earth-Space Antennas (ESAs), phased array antennas, transponders, transmitters, and receivers. - Conduct link budget assessments for Earth-to-Space, Space-to-Earth, and inter-satellite communications. - Assist with RF payload architectural evaluations, focusing on power, bandwidth, gain, and coverage enhancements. - Develop and validate RF hardware performance utilizing simulation tools (HFSS, ADS, CST, MATLAB) and laboratory/field testing equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, anechoic chamber measurements). - Collaborate with antenna engineers on the design, testing, and integration of reflector and phased array antennas. - Define and confirm requirements for compliance with mission objectives, environmental factors, and radiation limits. - Document and present technical findings during internal design reviews and discussions with external stakeholders.
